Afloat Once More - Paddling Maine
with Barb Toner
$10
In-Person Class
Afloat Once More is a chance for people who enjoy the outdoors and look forward to a gentle exploration of lakes, ponds and perhaps rivers in Western Maine, to wield a paddle in a canoe or kayak several times this summer. Novice to more advanced paddlers are welcome to participate in these midmorning trips on mostly flat water investigating shoreline, meandering through marshes or attacking open water while observing many different species of plants and animals. Each trip will be roughly a two-hour paddle before getting back to your vehicle happy and relaxed.
Among the trips will be one to Mt. Blue Pond in Avon. Details of this and other trips will be forthcoming. Participants will need a canoe or kayak, floatation jacket, paddle, and associated gear to be prepared for Maine outdoors in summer.
Dates are on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am:
June 30
July 21
August 18
Barbara is a latecomer to the Gold Leaf paddling group and has learned many things from them. She enjoys the outdoors and finds exploring new places exciting, especially when it can be shared with others.
